My Flashy Investment

For those of you who don't know, My Flashy Investment (aka Snoopy) is the son of my mare, Frostie. I bred her to Artful Investment, pampered her through her pregnancy, helped deliver her baby, and have watched him being trained, first by our groom, Hilde Barragan, then by my trainers Nicky Owrey and Tina Duree. I wrote an article about his birth in California Riding.      Snoopy began as a wide-eyed, trusting soul and has grown into a good-natured gelding, easy to train and fairly unflappable. Niki's early training discovered his natural, slow-legged movement at the jog and lope. When Tina introduced him to trail poles, it was love at first sight.      Now three years old, Snoopy loves trail and horse shows, which suits us fine. He just completed a five-show series, the 3-Year Old Trail Futurities. Five shows over the summer and fall taught him a lot about showing, and taught us a lot about him.      And how did we do, you may ask...
